Scott A. Mitchell, M.D.
Scott A. Mitchell, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon originally from Salina, Kansas. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Kansas and subsequently trained at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for his orthopedic surgery residency. He was selected as a John H. Moe fellow at the Twin Cities Spine Center, where he trained under international leaders in minimally invasive spine surgery and complex spine deformity operations.
Dr. Mitchell has a special interest in minimally invasive spine techniques, adult degenerative spine conditions, scoliosis / adult deformity correction, and complex revision spine reconstruction. In addition, he provides motion-preserving surgical options of cervical disc arthroplasty and cervical laminoplasty in the appropriately indicated patients.
Dr. Mitchell enjoys staying current on the latest evidence-based spine surgery research and techniques. He has presented at regional, national, and international conferences about his spine surgery related research and has reviewed for spine journals. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the International Society of Spine Surgeons.
He accepts transfer of complex spine cases from outlying hospitals without spine expertise.
