How is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Treated?
In some patients, CTS worsens over time. If left untreated, it can cause permanent dysfunction of the hand. Treatments include:
- Use of brace
- Wrist splinting
- Medications
- Nerve gliding exercises
- Steroids injections
- Surgery
Surgery (carpal tunnel release) is recommended when non-surgical treatments don’t help. It helps relieve pressure and increase blood flow and function of the nerve.
